Work Coat — 12 oz. Black Selvage
The most basic version of a coat, in heavy black selvage: nothing extra, nothing missing. A strong collar, a high crop, and a double zipper that opens from the bottom for seated wear. Four patch pockets, straight body, room to layer over a shirt or a sweater. Heavy enough to be worth wearing on a bike. It ships raw and undistressed — stiff at first, and it softens over about a month of wear. Selvage denim woven in Okayama, Japan and sewn in Nashville, TN.
Cut with about 6–8" of ease over body chest so it closes over a layer.

A factory can make a coat that looks like this for less, because a line of people each sew one part of it, many times a day, and the fabric is lighter. This one is made start to finish by one person, from heavier fabric, after you order it.

Garment measurements, laid flat, in inches. Chest is measured across the coat one inch below the armhole and doubled.
Wash rarely, cold, inside out, and hang it to dry. Heat is what kills natural-fiber workwear. Black selvage will lose some depth over the first few washes — that's the fabric doing what it does.
